StopPalExpo – Speaker Profile 2019

PalExpo is scheduled for 6/7 July at Olympia London. It is organised by the extremist-supporting Friends of Al Aqsa (see below). Here we profile 37 of the speakers, chosen becaus they have a record of antisemitism or support for BDS or other demonisation of Israel.

The event will feature ‘Interactive Installations’ including:

BDS: Have a go at knocking down apartheid in a game of BDS bowling.

• Education: what obstacles will you face on your journey to school? Walk towards the oversized book to find out.

• Child prisoners: See what state a child’s bedroom is left in after Israeli troops arrest them during a night raid.

• Water: Fill up the buckets and watch the scale tip when measuring water disparity between Israel & Palestine.

• Checkpoints: Walk with the most vulnerable Palestinians who pass through checkpoints daily. Will you be able to answer their questions?

• Apartheid wall: See how you interact with your family during a meal with the Apartheid wall cutting through the dinner table. A symbol of how families are separated by the wall.

• Settlements: 3D settlements placed on the disappearing maps will show you the density and increase of Israeli settlements over time.

• Sport in Palestine: Score some goals and have a kick about in the football area where you can learn how occupation restricts the beautiful game.

• A&E in Gaza: Feeling unwell? Visit doctors in the Gaza hospital and see the difference in treatment Palestinians receive.

• UN tent: Hear personal stories from three generations on the impact of the Nakba and importance of the Right to Return. Set in a 1948 UN tent.

The event has been organised with children in mind.

palexpo 19 8

There is a ‘Kids’ Village’ and because it takes place over  a weekend, there will be many children there. They will be brainwashed against Israel with lies and without for example hearing about why the separation wall was necessary.

palexpo 19 9

Friends of Al-Aqsa (FOA)

Critics charge FOA with expressing support for extremists and terrorist organisations. It supports the Muslim Brotherhood-linked charity ‘Interpal’ (proscribed by the US Treasury) and advertises it on its website.  It collaborates with the Khomenist Iranian-funded faux human rights organisation known as the Islamic Human Rights Commission in organising events such as Al Quds day at which public support is expressed for the terror-supporting militia Hizbollah.

Its Chair, Ismail Patel, notoriously recommended  to the audience at a meeting some years ago that they read the works of Holocaust denier Roger Garaudy, whose work was also cited in a Friends of al Aqsa report.  In 2009, at a rally in support of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, Patel told the crowd:

“Hamas is no terrorist organization. The reason they hate Hamas is because they refuse to be subjugated, occupied by the Israeli state, and we salute Hamas for standing up to Israel […] to the state of Israel: you no longer represent the Jewish people.”

On the FOA website there is an appeal by Raed Salah who has been banned from the UK by the Home Office.

Salma Karmi Ayyoub is a barrister and consultant for Al Haq. Ghada Karmi is her mother. She supports a boycott. Al-Haq specialises in distorting the facts to promote demonisation of Israel. It never reports on human rights violations perpetrated by Palestinians on each other. More recently it has had links to terrorism. The head of Al-Haq, Shawan Jabarin, is prohibited from travelling abroad by Jordan and Israel due to his substantive involvement with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Joseph Massad  From Canary Mission: Joseph Massad denies the Jewish connection to Israel, likens Jews to Nazis, propagates allegations that Israel is a “racist settler colony” and promotes the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.  In 2002, Massad reportedly stated that “The Jews are not a nation… The Jewish state is a racist state that does not have a right to exist.”  Massad is a professor of modern Arab Politics and Intellectual History at Columbia University (Columbia).

Ramzy Baroud is a journalist, author and editor of Palestine Chronicle which has published sickening antisemitism.

Gideon Levy is a journalist with a column in Haaretz. Camera says ‘He is known in Israel as an acrimonious, anti-Israel ideologue and activist, recently arrested for spitting and cursing at IDF soldiers, who often invents his own facts to support his radical agenda. His fan base consists primarily of fellow Israel haters and activists, while mainstream Israelis and journalists dismiss him as a dishonest propagandist. (See, for example, “Colleague Takes Gideon Levy to Task” and “Former Editor Marmari Speaks Out On ‘Apartheid’ Poll Scandal“, as well as here .)

Latifa Abouchakra supports Ahad Tamimi who served a prison sentence in Israel for kicking and slapping IDF soldiers.

Issa Amro is described here. The ‘peaceful protester’ image he presents to journalists appears to be a façade that hides an intense hatred of Israel and a burning ambition to see the world’s only Jewish state replaced by yet another Arab-Muslim majority country.

Ahdaf Soueif signed a lie-ridden letter about the movement of the US Embassy to Jerusalem

Remi Kanazi From Canary Mission: Remi Kanazi has justified terrorism, belittled the Holocaust and demonized Jews. He has also supported terrorists, compared Zionists to the KKK and spread hatred of Israel.

Huda Elmi is a member of Labour’s National Executive Committee.  She called for the EHRC to be abolished, after it announced an inquiry into antisemitism in the Labour Party. In November 2017 she wrote in a Facebook post: ‘We must refuse to allow Israel to present itself as anything other than the truth – an ill-conceived imperial project in which generations of Palestinians have paid the price.

palexpo 19 1
Ilan Pappe Ilan Pappe is an academic at Exeter University. He has been discredited by fellow Israeli historian Benny Morris: “At best, Ilan Pappe must be one of the world’s sloppiest historians; at worst, one of the most dishonest. In truth, he probably merits a place somewhere between the two.”

Osama Abuirshad From Canary Mission: Osama Abuirshaid, American Muslims for Palestine’s national policy director based in Washington, has expressed support for Hamas, spread anti-Semitism, promoted anti-Israel incitement and praised the Muslim Brotherhood.

Dr Myriam Francois doesn’t accept that Hamas commits war crimes

palexpo 19 2

Ronnie Barkan Longtime Jewish Israeli activist and maths teacher raised in Raanana, near Tel Aviv.  Co-founder of ‘Boycott from Within’.  Involved since 2004 in protests against the Israeli security fence. Professor Hatem Bazian From Canary Mission Hatem Bazian has spread classic anti-Semitism, reportedly promoted religious anti-Semitism, denied Jewish peoplehood and Jewish history and has compared Israel to Nazi Germany.

Colin Monehan Retweets Just Jews who are a version of the antisemitism-endorsing Jews in Labour. Retweets Aron Bastani, hard left Corbyn supporter. Proud to post his photo with terrorist supporter Ahad Tamimi.

palexpo 19 3.png

Daphna Baram is the Director of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions UK. ICAHD was an Israeli NGO which was antisemitic because it sought the end of self-determination for the Jewish people. ICAHD UK is similarly antisemitic. In addition it supports Jewish Voice for Labour, an organisation which exists to whitewash antisemitism in the Labour Party.

Julie Ward Labur MEP strongly backs the extremist group MEND. She has used antisemitic language.

David Hearst is the Editor in chief of Middle East Eye. The website BBC Watch commented that Hearst ‘never had much of a problem rubbing shoulders with Islamists’. He has also appeared to favour the ending of Israel as a state based on Judaism.

Benjamin Ladraa From Canary Mission: Benjamin Ladraa has defended terrorists, promoted the violent March of Return, demonized Israel and advocated for anti-Israel agitators.Sarah Lasoye NUS Women’s Officer. BDS supporter

Steven Saxby Supporter of extremists and of Corbyn. Has spoken alongside George Galloway. Member of the infamous Palestine Live group on Facebook.

John Altman  Israel-hating former East Enders actor

Andy Slaughter MP has accused Israel of deliberately killing Palestinian families and controlling the Palestinians’ calorie count. has long been close to the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), a Hamas front with a chilling record of promoting some of the very worst hate preachers.

Dr Swee Ang has distributed and encouraged others to distribute an openly antisemitic video by David Duke, a white supremacist and former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard. In 2014 Dr Swee Ang, circulated a link to Duke’s video entitled “CNN, Goldman Sachs and the Zio Matrix”. Medical Aid for Palestinians – which Ang founded and of which she is a Patron – has spread political propaganda, promoted antisemitism and has  connections with organisations linked to the Palestinian terrorist organisation, the PFLP.  Some of MAP’s annual income of £5.4 million may have been spent for political propaganda rather than for its stated purpose of providing medical aid, infringing UK charity law.

Asad Rehman Heads War On Want which is viciously anti-Israel. Advances false comparisons of Israel to apartheid South Africa. And has compared Israel to ISIS. Supports BDS.

palexpo 19 4

Chris Rose Director, Amos Trust. Much of the violence on Temple Mount has been fuelled by false claims that Jews were trying to take it over Temple Mount. Yet according to Reverend Chris Rose, these acts of violence ‘have been in no small part pushed by Jewish extremist groups and the Israeli government has not been effective in countering them’. The Amos Trust fails to see that the decline in the Palestinian Christian population owes far more to the gradual Islamisation of the West Bank than to the ongoing political conflict. Amos Trust supports BDS against Israel.

Glynn Secker At the Israel Hatefest in London on May 11 he described MPs in Labour Friends of Israel as a “fifth column” and said “Jewish leaders here also turn a blind eye to the extreme right, even when their own Zionist Federation embraces the English Defence League, a neo-fascist group banned by Facebook. What on earth are Jews doing in the gutter with these rats. Promoted the conspiracy theory that Israel supports ISIS, using an antisemitic conspiracy website. Mocked the Jewish Labour Movement for meeting in a pub because they are a Jewish organisation. Has much form as regards fomenting antisemitism.

David Cronin Anti-Israel author. Suggested that the Guardian newspaper ‘is in thrall to the toxic ideology of Zionism’.

Salman Sayyid Academic who is close to the IHRC (Islamic Human Rights Commission) which organises the annual Israel-demonising Al Quds march in London. The IHRC hosts annual Islamophobia “awards”. Winners have included Charlie Hebdo (awarded after the murder of 12 of its journalists), Barack Obama and Polly Toynbee.

Nick Bilbrough Boycotter and advocate of the apartheid lie.

palexpo 19 5

Tajul Islam Signed letter calling for an EU embargo on arms exports to Israel; for the EU to suspend Israel’s Association Agreement; and to exclude Israel from EU research programmes.

Mickey Brady Sinn Fein MP who has not taken his seat. Has called for the expulsion of the Israel Ambassador from Ireland. Supports BDS and promulgates the Apartheid Lie.palexpo 19 6

Samayya Afzal Supported by Malia Bouattia at NUS. Community engagement manager at Muslim Council of Britain. Demonises and lies about Israel.

palexpo 19 7
Justin Butcher Wants the end of Israel as a Jewish State. Organised the anti-Israel Bethlehem Unwrapped event at St James Church in London in 2013 with the replica separation fence. Supports Amos Trust whose rhetoric about Israel includes accusations of ‘apartheid,’ ‘ethnic cleansing,’ and ‘collective punishment.’

Memo to the Home Secretary and Mayor of London

This event is blatantly antisemitic and will inevitably increase hatred of Jews in the UK.

As a coalition of concerned citizens, we would welcome your comment.

The Middle East played out in Westminster

The weekend of July 8th & 9th 2017 brought the Palestine Expo 2017- Generation Palestine to the Queen Elizabeth Centre in the heart of London’s Westminster, across the road from Westminster Abbey and down the road of the Houses of Parliament. This, despite all efforts to persuade the Government not to allow this expo to take place. Some might say, as they have, that free speech is the essence of our democratic society, so why would the government ban this event? On the face of it that seems right, but there are many issues that bubble beneath the surface that cannot be ignored. You can read our letter to Sajid Javid, the Minister in charge of the Queen Elizabeth ll Centre and to Theresa May, the Prime Minister here and the booklet about the 24 most toxic speakers here.

This Palestine expo, brought together under one roof, a government-owned roof, both soft and hard-core Palestinianism as pedalled around the UK on a daily basis at schools, universities and in church halls. Organised by Friends of Al Aqsa (FOA) of ‘Hamas is not a terrorist organisation’ persuasion, with the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) of which Jeremy Corbyn is a patron, the Boycott Divest Sanctions movement (BDS), Interpal (proscribed in the US), Islamic Human Rights Commission of the ‘Zionists are responsible for the Grenfell Tower fire’ notoriety, amongst other like organisations. This was the biggest gathering of extremist speakers, film makers, educators and propagandists in the entire western world and behind it lies a plethora of founders and members associated both directly and indirectly with extremist organisations like Iran proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, that work toward the de-Judaisation of the Holy land.

There were speakers and exhibits, a children’s corner, an arts centre, an education area and a food hall. Each showcased an aspect of a Palestine narrative un-evidenced, un-sourced and un-referenced from exhibits, to installations, talks to lectures. There were exhibits without provenance claiming a non-existent Palestinian heritage in a land that is the homeland of the Jews. It was an extravaganza that an organisation with approximately £250,000 in its bank account could hardly afford. The grandeur and stature of this event belies the grassroots status of the participating organisations, raising the spend for the weekend to a different level.

The Stop Palestine Expo Coalition organised a rolling demonstration outside over the two days with selected attendees to record and monitor the events and installations. Reports have come in to confirm the complete lack of provenance throughout. A photograph of some boys hugging what we are told is the oldest olive tree in Palestine. Absent was any information about the photographer, the place and the period.

The Prophets of Palestine

Children were subjected to stories about the ‘Prophets of Palestine’ including Dawud and Goliath and Musa and the Red Sea.

They were treated to a key that opened a box inside of which was an outfit, hijab for girls of course, the key, that symbolic propaganda tool of the Palestine narrative.

IMG_4531

Tent with the proverbial key

There is more, but you get the idea.

Having soaked up the propaganda and lectures on what and how to think, attendees came out primed with a story to deliver.

We heard about the Zionist occupation, Israeli apartheid, Balfour, the occupation, Shifra hospital, illegal weapons, IDF (Israel Defence Force) deliberately killing children. Hamas was airbrushed, its terror tunnels portrayed as supply routes for food, its rockets homemade and ineffectual, Israel underpinned by the USA together with the proverbial anti-Semitic tool, the Rothschilds. And we heard a lot about a right to their Palestinian heritage.

The narrative goes something like this:

There is an ancient people called Palestinian rooted in the geographical area of Israel, who have been deprived by Balfour, in collusion with the ‘Zionists’, of their land as well as their right of return, given they say, that they were expelled from Palestine, their refugee status bequeathed to the next generations so that someone born in the UK in 1990 is entitled to claim this Palestine as their country by way of heritage, that the Jews of Palestine are not native to the Middle East, Israel having been created by European survivors of the Holocaust, whilst at the same time denying that the Holocaust happened.

This narrative or replacement ideology, encompassing a religion, Islam, together with biblical and history revisionism, is delivered simplistically and emotively in a form that can easily be embraced unquestioningly by willing foot-soldiers.

Pitched across the barrier, Israel and Palestine, protagonists of the eternal battle for the soul of the Holy Land.

IMG_0016

Israel, confident in its heritage, a state re-established in 1948 by international agreement, with artefacts and an authorship to back up her provenance. Palestine, an entity created in 1964 specifically as a weapon in the battle to eradicate Jews from the area, from their Holy Land and from their history. But there is more to it than a war in the Middle East over territory.

With the failure of conventional warfare and weaponry to eradicate the Jews, a new weapon has entered the arena in this longstanding battle for the Holy Land. Where the Fedayeen insurgency and the Arab League oil embargo have failed, propaganda in the form of Palestinianism is now the main focus for attack.

They say if you tell a lie often enough it becomes fact.

With clear-cut projection, Israel becomes Palestine and the Prophets of Judaism transform into a Palestine educational tool in this propaganda war and with it, the Judeo-Christian foundation of Western democracy.

With Western society steeped in secularism, devoid of knowledge or awareness of its own heritage, disseminating the idea of a Palestinian heritage that predates Judeo-Christianity, becomes the acceptable discourse. And it’s this discourse that is permeating into our educational system so that, as a school teacher outside the Palestine Expo told me, history starts a mere 50 years ago. Israel becomes the aggressor in the BBC style of ‘first last reporting’, so that this weaponised people called Palestinian are being cut off from their land by a concrete wall barring them access to medical care, education and their farms, bequeathed to them, they say, together with their Palestinian heritage.

An entire generation of schoolchildren in the UK will not learn from their teachers about suicide bombers walking into barmitzvah parties to explode amongst the guests, or patients in Israeli hospitals, hiding knives under their hijabs, a weapon with which to kill the surgeon who saved their life.

Outside the QEll Centre, dressed up in clothes made of the red, green and black of the ‘Palestinian’ flag, sporting the same flag-coloured pendant in the geographical shape of Israel, protestors joined the war cry, together with identikit hijabed mother and 4-year-old daughter chanting ‘Is-ra-el ter-ro-rist’.

img_4482-e1500228658829.jpg

Other clichés sprouted outside the expo include Balfour, he of the Declaration that carved up, by international agreement, the British mandated territory of Palestine creating a trans-Jordan state for the Arabs of Palestine, allocating the land west of the river for the Jews. At the same time of course, in the greater Middle East, Islamic states like Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria were delineated in the wake of the Ottoman Empire. None of this is of any concern to Balfour antagonists, amongst them MPs, educationists, film makers and journalists, some of whom are on the list of the 24 extremist expo speakers, as they spread their propaganda.

IMG_4463

Dave Randall reading the booklet of the 24 most toxic speakers

The two days outside the expo, revealed that when they chant ‘Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea’, many have no idea of the geography, so that the perception is that the 1948 cease-fire line, known as the ‘green line’, and the Jordan river are one and the same. But never mind a few missing facts between FOA, PSC/BDS and their comrades in the Labour Party of Jeremy Corbyn, Patron and platform frequenter of the PSC and Al Quds.

IMG_2760

The British Mandate for Palestine & the creation of trans-Jordan – The Arabs of Palestine received their territory east of the Jordan River, The Jews of Palestine had to wait until 1948 to receive a fraction of their’s

Holding sway in Westminster that sunny weekend in July, the Palestine Expo, a smashing culmination after a season of Israel apartheid weeks across the UK and an Al Quds march, resplendent with Hezbollah flags emblazoned with that rifle and knife, not too far away from the London Bridge massacre and the Westminster knife attacks perpetrated by Islamist extremists in the name of their god. A god I was told by an elderly Persian, who would see all Jews and Christians burn in hellfire if they refused to convert to Islam.

Palestiniansim is clearly the 21st century means, but what’s end?

A young man from Tajikistan told me a few years ago that he had decided to re-embrace the ancient religion of his family – Islam. By way of explanation he requested a sheet of paper upon which he drew what looked like a fried egg. Sweeping his hand across the white of the egg he said, “that’s Islam” and he indicated the yellow circle in the middle, the Jews. The problem he told me was that the Jews just would not scramble in with the last prophet.  I asked him where the Christians were and he casually said, “in there somewhere”. That’s exactly what was playing out at the Palestine Expo 2017 in the epicentre of Westminster, a microcosm of the Middle East with Palestinianism fanning out across Europe and the greater West. And it’s the reason the propaganda focuses on the Jews, for if a sufficiently large body politic is assembled that colludes with this Palestiniasm, the resulting Red/Green Alliance forms the most dangerous anti-Western pact of our times.

Open letter to PM Theresa May

Sunday 2nd July 2017

The Prime Minister Theresa May
10 Downing Street
London SW1

Dear Prime Minister,

In the immediate aftermath of the London bridge terrorist massacre you said:

There is, to be frank, far too much tolerance of extremism in our country. It is time to say enough is enough

and you put out a call to tackle head-on the ideology of Islamist extremism in Britain.

You maintained, of the cluster of attacks this year, that they are bound together by a single ideology of Islamist extremism that preaches hatred and promotes sectarianism, and you continued:

We cannot and must not pretend that things can carry on as they are”.

Your 2017 manifesto includes a pledge to create a new commission charged with “identifying and exposing examples of extremism” and the possibility of new criminal offences to outlaw non-violent extremism in Britain for the first time.

We welcome the pledge and we applaud your conclusive response that ultimately something needs to be done to stem the tide of Islamist terrorism in our country.

However, as Home Secretary, your 2015 anti-extremism programme included:

  • Banning orders against groups that fall short of existing terrorism proscription thresholds
  • extremism disruption orders against individuals who incite hatred
  • closure orders against premises used to host extremist meetings or speakers.

Yet, groups falling short of existing terrorism proscription thresholds are seen regularly on our streets participating in organised marches and at our universities, with individuals inciting hatred appearing on campuses, in church halls and government owned venues. 2017 was no exception.

As we write, there are any number of PSC/BDS (Palestine Solidarity Campaign/BoycottDivestmentSanctions) organised anti-Israel meetings and protests taking place in church halls and on campuses across the country with speakers disseminating history revisionism and anti-Zionism as a cloak for Jew hatred.

On 18 June 2017 London witnessed a parade of Hezbollah flags at Iran’s Ayatollah created Al Quds day march calling for the demise of Israel. At that march this year, the leader of IHRC (Islamic Human Rights Committee) was heard issuing anti-Semitic race-hate at Jewish counter protesters  of “It’s in their genes to occupy Regent Street, its genetic” and placards blaming ‘Zionists’ for the Grenfell Tower fire – for ‘Zionists’ read Jews.

2017 also brings a Palestine Expo to the QEll Centre on 8th and 9th July this year, supported by Ismail Patel’s FOA (Friends of Al Aqsa) organisation and the PSC (Palestine Solidarity Campaign). Widely advertised are speakers well-known on the PSC/BDS lecture circuit for their history revisionism and replacement ideology. Also advertised is a children’s section to which youngsters are invited to learn about the Prophets of Palestine, from booklets illustrated with pictures of Bible stories, like the parting of the Red Sea.

As a vicar’s daughter Prime Minister, you will know that teaching children the revisionist version of our Prophets as the Prophets of Palestine is a perversion of our Judeo-Christian ethic upon which is based the essence of our democracy. Yet we hear only of your concern about a perversion of Islam, as your Government Minister, Sajid Javid, concedes that it is acceptable for such indoctrination to be allowed at the Government owned Queen Elisabeth ll Centre, not a stones throw from Westminster. We take you at your word Prime Minister when you say:

“we must come together, we must pull together and united we will take on and defeat our enemy”.

We say to you Prime Minister, there is no place in our society for an expo over 5 floors of a government owned venue, in the heart of our seat of government, that disseminates replacement ideology to an unsuspecting public and there is no place for such an event that risks the very security of a country under attack by extremists who could well use this event for another massacre like that at London Bridge. Ismail Patel of Friends of Al Aqsa was on the Mavi Mamara flotilla in 2010, together with IHH activists. Mahmoud Khaled Omar Ali, also a participant on the Gaza flotilla, was arrested at Westminster in April 2017 carrying a rucksack of knives.

We urge you to read our open letter to Sajid Javid in which we explain all of our concerns a copy of which we have enclosed.

We urge you to read our report on Race Hate as it impacts UK Jewry and to take note of our recommendations.

And we urge you to reconsider the Government position regarding the Palestine Expo 2017 – Generation Palestine and to call a halt to it, just as Sir Eric Pickles, had cancelled a Christian Concern event in 2012 at the same venue for ‘diversity’ reasons, at 4.05pm, the afternoon before the conference was due to begin.

This is the moment Prime Minister, having declared Enough is Enough, to deliver to the free citizens of our very divided country the certainty that you will, as promised, stand up for what is right in protecting the integrity and security of our society, that you will not be cowered by those who use our democracy to further the aims of extremism in order to destroy our country; for as Ibn Warraq said:

“The origins of the modern West are often seen in the Enlightenment of the seventeenth and eighteenth century, but the roots of the Enlightenment can be found in habits of mind cultivated in Athens, Rome, and Jerusalem, and the institutions that grew from them.”

We remain yours faithfully,

Stop Palestine Expo Coalition Open Letter to The Right Hon Sajid Javid

The Right Honourable Sajid Javid
House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA
Email: sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk

Dear Secretary of State:

The Palestine Expo 2017- Generation Palestine 8 & 9 July 2017

SPEC (Stop Palestine Expo Coalition) is a coalition of organisations and individuals who are concerned about the pending Palestine Expo 2017 – Generation Palestine to be held at the Queen Elisabeth ll Centre, London on 8 & 9 July 2017. We outline below why we believe that this event has no place in a Government Agency venue in the heart of Westminster and ask that the Secretary of State is cognisant of our concerns, particularly following the recent terrorist attacks in London and Manchester.

We write to you of our concern about the above the event booked to take place at the Queen Elizabeth ll Conference Centre in Westminster on 8th and 9th July 2017. This is a PSC (Palestine Solidarity Campaign) and FOA (Friends of Al Aqsa) event that will utilise 5 floors of the QEll Centre making it as advertised the biggest Palestine expo in Europe. We understand that there are already in excess of 10,000 bookings.

We have written to QEll Centre CEO Mark Taylor, listing our concerns, providing information links to the organisations involved with this expo.

https://bbcwatch.org/tag/palestine-solidarity-campaign/

Why Palexpo must be cancelled:

  • This event is a security risk London cannot afford to host in Westminster close to the seat of Government particularly given the recent terrorist attacks in London and Manchester
  • How could QEII Centre possibly do its due diligence without seeing the programme for the event, lists of speakers, workshop leaders and topics?
  • In accepting this event booking QEll becomes involved in the Israel/Palestine dispute, showing bias against Israel
  • The organisers of this event have evidential links to support for Hamas whose Izz al- Din al-Qassem Brigades, the Hamas armed wing, is proscribed by the UK
  • There is a possibility or likelihood that certain attendees will express their antisemitic views (or worse)

Dr Denis MacEoin’s article explains clearly what this event is about and why it should not be taking place.

Link: https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10428/palestine-expo-london

Dr Denis MacEoin PhD (Cambridge 1979) is a scholar of Islam and Persia, a former lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies and currently a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute.

  • “‘Friends of Al-Aqsa’ is one of the more extremist Islamist organizations at work in Britain today. It supports the Muslim Brotherhood-linked charity ‘Interpal’ (proscribed by the US Treasury) and advertises it on its website. It collaborates with the Khomenist Iranian-funded faux human rights organization known as the Islamic Human Rights Commission in organizing events such as Al Quds day at which public support is expressed for the Iranian proxy militia Hizbollah.” — UK Media Watch.
  • Under these definitions, Hamas is exposed as a terrorist organization both by its repeated use of indiscriminate killing and the contents of its two Charters from 1988 and 2017.
  • “There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except through jihad…” — Hamas Charters of 1988 and 2017, Articles 18 and 21.
  • Hamas is not the only extremist organization to which Friends of Al-Aqsa has lent its support.

QEll Centre, security and further Due Diligence

Following further due diligence checks Mark Taylor wrote on 18 May to inform that the Palexpo event would be going ahead.

Given that the speaker list had not then been announced and the topics and detail of the workshops are still not programmed, and given the information as outlined by Dr Denis MacEoin, on what basis did QEll Centre carry out this further due diligence?

If due diligence resulted in the QEll Centre late cancellation of a Christian Concern event there in 2012 as a result of a claimed failure to meet the requirements of its diversity policy, surely that same standard needs to apply with this Palexpo event, that not only fails the diversity policy, but contravenes equal opportunity policy by engaging only pro-Palestinian speakers.

Speakers now announced include, amongst others, several extremists

John Pilger is an Australian journalist and film-maker, one of whose documentaries has been described as “a veritable encyclopedia of every anti-Israel canard in existence today”. He has suggested that terrorist group Hezbollah represented “humanity at its noblest”; approvingly cited the arguments of the above-mentioned anti-Semite and Holocaust denier Gilad Atzmon; has suggested that “influential” Jews around the world are culpable in “Israeli crimes” and has likened Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians to the Nazi’s treatment of the Jews. According to Pilger , “the Zionist state remains the cause of more regional grievance and sheer terror than all the Muslim states combined.”

Link: https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/10428/palestine-expo-london

Jon Pilger wrote in the Guardian:

Before our eyes, the Israeli regime (it is never called a regime, of course), armed and bankrolled by the United States, and backed by Britain, is set upon destroying an entire country, deliberately killing civilians, almost half of whom are children; and the crusaders are as quiet as mice or they are busy toiling in the great quarry of obsfucation.

Pilger directly accuses Israel, an ally of the UK, of deliberately killing children and expressly uses the word crusader to describe commentators.  Crusader of course is the word Islamists use to describe Christians and its not very complimentary.

Radicalised schoolgirl Leanne Mohammed is a speaker in the student section. She was winner of the Peachy school debating competition that was surrounded by great controversy for its political content. Her award was later withdrawn as a result of that political content which is clearly against the rules.

Malia Bhoutia and Ben White are also speakers with extreme views:  “…Then Malia Bouattia, the Black Students’ Officer of the National Union of Students, compared Israel’s apparent oppressive treatment of its Arab citizens to the UK’ “targeting of Muslims and pro-Palestine activists”. She claimed that “UK Muslims find their democratic freedoms are comprehensively stripped”…”

And she seriously thinks that in this country “discussion about Palestine is all but illegitimate” which she blamed on “the Zionist and Neocon lobbies”.

Ben “I do not consider myself an anti-Semite, yet I can also understand why some are” White was the final speaker. He referred to Israel as the “so-called Jewish state” before calling for Israel to become a “state of all it citizens, not a Jewish state”.

QEll Centre Political Entanglement

In accepting a booking for this event, the Minister for Communities and Local Government as head of the department that is responsible for the QEll Centre, is displaying an active bias in the Israel/Palestine conflict, possibly the most contentious political issue of our times.

This is the one international conflict about which the UK Government holds an official policy. It supports the Two State Solution. As such it is questionable that a venue that is run by an agency of the Government should be accepting a booking from one party to that Middle East dispute, particularly in view of the links between these organisations and Hamas and Hezbollah.

The PSC/BDS, FOA and their association with Hamas/Hezbollah represent the delegitimisation of Israel best illustrated by the slogan/chants that call for the demise of Israel – From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free – expanding the initial dispute over the 1948 cease fire line known as the Green Line to the Blue Line, the Mediterranean Sea. Furthermore, President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority as well as Hamas are clear that no Jews can live in a future Palestine state. This is therefore a call for the expulsion of Jews entirely from the Middle East, in keeping even with the revised Hamas Charter which is also described by Daoud Abdullah as a set of principles pursuant to the 1988 Hamas Charter.

Jewish Race Hate at Palexpo

Since writing to Mark Taylor, we have found links to the Facebook page of Mohammed Isa Al Quddus Kim Yong Who) who has posted the attached screenshots on his page that clearly show the Jew hatred and threats that we said might occur.

Antisemitism

David Collier’s research shows PSC supporters who believe libels like the USA is controlled by Zionists, Jews are responsible for 9/11, harvest organs etc.

Hamas

The Hamas Izz al-Din al-Qassem Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, is proscribed by the UK. Yet there are links between FOA and Hamas.

With this further evidence, it is hoped that the Department of Communities and local government and QEll Centre together will now ensure that this event, an affront to most in the community, will be cancelled and not rebooked in any venue that is government controlled.

If the biggest event of the year in in the UK set to celebrate the Jewish state was canceled, following advice it could be a terror target, surely you must agree that this Palestine event, platforming speakers exampled above and possibly attracting extremists and anti-Semites amongst the 10,000 reported attendees, presents a high security risk in the heart of Westminster and it must not proceed.
